I'm curious to find out, I guess only time will tell. They are getting more & more difficult to find.

Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

Sincerely,

Lance

Lance,
Is there any way to tell what car the engine actually came from? The tape over the intake says 88 challenge - #3 - 1990. The ad states, "This particular engine was from the Doug Rippie Motorsports #3 car driven by Bill Cooper." That would make it a 1989???

Jim,

Unfortunately you can only go by what the current owner states. The code that he took a picture of does not show if the engine stamp is a race code block or a factory car block. It's tough to tell... he really needs better pictures of the block stamp. If it's a "VET1806" stamp then it's a race code block, if not then you'd have to varify the info with Curtis Smith's book.

I know it's not the answer you were looking for, but that's it. Very Happy

I hope you had a nice holiday weekend.

Sincerely,

Lance
